The last chapter is the most helpful of all! My favorite part is when the author contradicts the whole men are from different planets thing.
The author details helpful advice, point after point. She is extremely intelligent and well versed in what she does.
As someone who has grown up with divorced parents, this book has opened my eyes and changed my life in ways I didn't even know.
One person found this helpful. This is the most amazing book. I swear to God I thought there was something so very, very wrong with me until I read this book.
NO ONE talks about female commitmentphobia--I think maybe they just label it an anxiety disorder or something.
I think many women don't recognize they ARE commitmentphobes and that might be one of the reasons it's so often labeled a male phenomenon.
This book gave me hope and made me feel not only normal, but not alone. The book is sprinkled with real life women "confessing" about their relationships and commitmentphobia and it was such a relief just to see some of these women's thoughts in print.
So many parts of it were like reading my own thoughts and the most helpful part was actually when the author told people what NOT to say to a commitmentphobe--people have been saying this stuff to me forever and it always sets me off on another anxiety ridden tangent.
Now I know where my commitmentphobia most likely comes from, what behaviors I have that don't get me what I want and what I can do about them.
I am not exaggerating when I tell you what a miracle reading this book was for me. It is somewhat disappointing to hear that commitment phobia will most likely never be something I'll be entirely rid of, i.
This book has helped me realize how often I self-sabotage because of my fear of commitment and now that I feel like I'm not a completely crazy, I can get to work on some of her suggestions.
I'd give this book to half my female friends, but I think some of them are in denial! I never would have classified myself as commitment-phobic.
But the extreme relationship anxieties, serial dating and "tinkerbell" syndrome described in this book are like looking in a mirror.
I've been to different therapists over the past years and nobody pinpointed my issues the way this book has - not even close.
I feel like there's hope for me now I came into this book pretty sure this wasn't about me. Now, I've read the whole thing and several chapters several times.
I don't believe there is anything wrong with a girl not wanting to be in a relationship, but there's no use pretending to want to be in one, and putting all that effort forth to maintain one, when you really want to live the fun, breezy single life.
Sure, sometimes it's lonely, but this book really points out all the different ways we kinda say we want one thing, while really we have one foot out the door because it's not what we want.
I read this in conjunction with "Finding your Inner Bitch" Elizabeth Hilts, and "20 something 20 everything".
Together, I've started to learn what it is to make a commitment to oneself. It may sound dumb, but don't knock it until you try it.
Truely impressive results. This was a good read and I could relate to what the author was saying. I would definitely recommend it to those who may be questioning why their relationships may not be working out as I felt there was some solid advise given in the book.
This was one of the best books I've purchased. I caught myself picking apart the man in my life because I was scared of commitment, and this really helped me gain insight.
I'm still a little overly-cautious, but much more aware of my motives and reasoning. I've passed this book along to my single girlfriend that always picks "unavailable" men, with hopes she may see her own apprehensions and ways to overcome them.
Therapist told me to read this. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Do not buy this book is you genuinely suffer from anxiety around relationships and commitment and are looking for answers.
The first chapter describes the problem reasonably well, but the rest of the book is unhelpful in terms of any realistic solutions for people with psychological difficulties around relationships - it is overly simplistic, far too light-hearted and does not take into account the depth of the problem.
The book actually made me feel worse about the difficulties I have. Book is well structured. A typical modern self help guide. Very american style of writing, overall would say an easy read.

Jan 27, Becca rated it really liked it. Sex you up and break your heart. That's how it felt with these two. One struggling to overcome his past while denying he's lonely by having sex But chemistry is powerful thing and more so when what goes on outside the bedroom is just as good.
Austin was determined to never get hurt again after his ex dumped him the way he did. He figured after 3 years he'd be over it, but he's not yet. So he buries himself in men.
Pun intended. But one hookup has left him feeling empty once he got home. Oliver filled places in him he's never had filled.
But he can't get up the courage to message him again on Grindr. Oliver misses Austin just as bad and takes it out in his painting.
After 6 months, Oliver knows he will never see Austin again, so he accepts a date through Valentine's Inc. Little does he know, both men are getting the true wish to see each other, because surprise.
It goes off better than Austin could expect, little by little they are seeing more of each other.
But once a week isn't enough anymore. Austin is terrified, but he can't deny what he feels any more. He just hopes Oliver feels the same way.
What started off a casual night, left an impression on both of these guys. Even after 6 months, they still felt the other. I really liked Oliver.
He is actually someone Austin needs. He's carefree and spontaneous. Lives life to the fullest and Austin needs his world shaken up.
It's hard when you've been hurt though. You doubt everything about yourself and Austin did. In the bedroom was one thing, but out in the real world was another.
Oliver makes him see life differently. And Austin shows Oliver that the right person won't squash your freedom but allow you to soar together.
I think we could all be a little more like Oliver. Maybe not to his extreme, but life is meant to be lived.
I fell hard and fast for this story. I loved Oliver and Austin. These two characters stole my heart from the very beginning. I always seem to have my breath taking from me with a story written by K.
They are always brimming with wonderful heat and beautiful and almost life changing romance. But I am still blown away by this novella. Yes, it was breathtaking but there was more to it than that.
Beautiful sweetness that buried itself under my skin and in my heart and had me tearing up and sighing loud and long.
And sex so steamy and hot I felt almost scorched by it. And the plot Jan 21, Roberta Blablanski rated it it was amazing Shelves: mm , arc-for-review , piercings , fake-relationship , lace.
This story contains so many of my favorite things: fake relationship trope, piercings, lace underthings. And hott hott HOTT sexy times.
I think my kindle started smoking at one point. Austin is the sweet, relationship phobe; Oliver is the free spirited, looking-for-fun artist.
Boy, they don't know what hit them when they meet again by chance after an explosive Grindr hookup. Their chemistry is off the charts sexy and, at the same time, super gooey sweet.
I loved these two. Many thanks to the autho This story contains so many of my favorite things: fake relationship trope, piercings, lace underthings.
Many thanks to the author for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Feb 08, Lori rated it really liked it.
I loved this book and it was one of those rare times where I thought it needed to be longer. Jan 26, Wendy Moore rated it liked it. I will start with this is most likely a me thing as I am not a novella fan I liked both characters but it hard to connect with them when they mostly have sex and don't talk.
But it was a fun, sweet Valentine's read!! Jan 30, ML rated it it was amazing. Perfect short story! I loved Austin and Oliver. This was the perfect short story.
Their relationship development seemed to be at a real life pace. The sex is SO hot as well! SO hot. The end is just the best as well! Jan 24, Xanthe rated it really liked it.
Enjoyable contemporary romance I love Kyleen's writing style and she brings her characters to life with ease, this book being no different.
Austin and Oliver both expect to stay just a book up, regardless of how good things were. So when they meet again, it's decided that it will become a regular thing.
The two men develop a relationship whilst keeping things casual and it's fun to read them try and deny any serious feelings towards the other.
I really enjoyed the contrasts between the two. Olive Enjoyable contemporary romance I love Kyleen's writing style and she brings her characters to life with ease, this book being no different.
Oliver is all about creativity and freedom whilst Austin is just going through the motions of the daily grind.
Their attraction is clear right from the off and there are several not scenes between them. Oliver's art definitely sounds like something to see too.
Our main focus is with these two throughout and I definitely recommend reading their story. It's a great addition to the Valentine's Inc series Jan 24, Phoenix13 rated it it was amazing.
Perfect and yummy! This author is a favorite of mine, and this book definitely lives up to expectations. It is low angst, low drama, and goodness I really needed exactly that.
Lighthearted and very sexy Just the right amount of emotions and love to go along with the lust, and great touches of fun and humor too.
I definitely loved it! Sep 19, Benjamin Wong rated it it was amazing Shelves: contemporary , low-angst , mm , novella , re-reading , could-not-put-down , fave-couples , hot-hot-hot , multi-author-series.
Good recovery read compared to the previous book in the series. This was soooo good. The chemistry between the MCs, the awkwardness stemming from insecurities and fear of commitment and of course the sex.
During this process, proteins originally resident within the vesicle membrane do not laterally diffuse onto the plasma membrane, thus allowing vesicles to preserve their identity during endocytosis.
In this way, vesicles can be rapidly retrieved following fusion in a form of endocytosis that does not require vesicle reassembly.
A key aspect of this model is the potential for postfusion regulation of chemical substance diffusion from the vesicle lumen through regulation of fusion pore opening duration and diameter.
Kiss-and-run-type exocytosis-endocytosis coupling has been observed in multiple secretory systems that include mast cells, adrenal chromaffin cells, and pancreatic zymogen granules; however, the prevalence of this pathway for synaptic vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release is a matter of intense debate.
